Description Patricia had a lot to say. It seems her relations with the Order have affected her a lot more than I first thought. I think she’s telling the truth. I just wish she had had a chance to finish her sentence.

Transcript

(Charlie is looking at the camera, which is in her bag.)

Charlie: It's just you and me.

(Charlie grabs her bag and walks into a restaurant. She walks to a table and slams onto it, causing her purse to open. Patricia is seen glaring at Charlie.)

Charlie: Patricia.

Patricia: Charlie.

Charlie: You got my message.

Patricia: (inaudible)

(A waiter approaches the table.)

Waiter: Can I get you anything?

Charlie: No, thanks, I'm okay.

(Patricia notices the camera in Charlie's bag.)

Waiter: You sure?

Charlie: Yeah.

Waiter: Well, if you need anything, I'll be right over there.

Charlie: Cool, thanks.

(The waiter walks away.)

Patricia: I've seen the light.

Charlie: The Order?

Patricia: No, the red light in your bag. You left your camera. (Grabs the camera out of Charlie's bag.)

Charlie: Look, it's the only protection that I've got.

Patricia: No, it's okay. (Hands a folder to Charlie.)

Charlie: I don't think it was you, but I can't be sure.

Patricia: I guess you want to know why I asked for Kate that night?

Charlie: (Going through the papers in the folder.) You obviously didn't get a diary for Christmas, then...

Patricia: No, they're notes. Look, I'm not a journalist anymore, Charlie, but, if you trust me, then you'll trust them.

Charlie: And this is all the notes you have since you got fired?

Patricia: I've been working with the FTO. It's an underground anti-Order movement.

Charlie: And you tracked down Kate?

Patricia: But we didn't get the list. (Sighs.) I told her we could help de-activate the trait positive girls, but...

Charlie: Well, she didn't trust you?

Patricia: (Sighs.) Kate didn't trust anybody. It was... difficult. In fact, it was a liability. (Charlie pans the camera down, looking at crime scene photos.) She just wouldn't believe in us.

Charlie: So you just let her wander off on her own?

Patricia: No. We could have protected her, but... Look, she broke away. She wanted to do it alone.

Charlie: And then she was killed.

Patricia: There's more. We, that is the FTO, discovered a ritual linked to the Order.

Charlie: Some kind of Ceremony?

Patricia: No, this is different this time. It's entirely unscientific, but great powers can supposedly be drawn from the murder of a trait positive girl. Charlie, we believe it involves the drinking of blood rather than the conventional life-extending ceremonies.

Charlie: Conventional?

Patricia: Well, that is to say that we haven't seen it before. I think it's been done by an extremist break-away group. There's been defraction of the Hymn. (Sighs.) Look, they did this to Kate. We believe they're being led by this guy-

('The camera swings wildly to reveal Tariq standing over Charlie.)

Tariq: Gotcha!

Charlie: Tariq!

Steve: Tariq, calm down!

Waiter: Whoa, whoa! Are these guys bothering you?

Charlie: Hi.

Tariq: Who the hell are you?

Charlie: No-no-no-no-no! They're fine!

Waiter: I'm the order here!

Charlie: No-no-no- he's-

Tariq: We're with them.

Steve: Calm down. Hey!

Waiter: What are you doing, man? You're touching me!

Tariq: I'm just trying- (inaudible)

Steve: I'm just-

Charlie: Guys, guys! They're with me, honestly.

Tariq: Yeah, go make a panini or something, alright, and calm down.

Charlie: Tariq!

Waiter: We don't want any trouble!

Steve: We don't want any trouble, either.

Charlie: Look, honestly, they're just with me. They're- Really.

Steve: We're with her, we don't want any trouble.

Waiter: Fine! Hurry up and get out.

Tariq: God's sake... Chill out.

Charlie: Good one, guys! I was just this close to-

(Charlie turns the camera to discover Patricia missing. She turns the camera toward the door, to see the waiter walking away. She then turns back to Tariq and Steve. Cut to the three of them sitting at the table.)

Charlie: I was this close.

Steve: We were worried about you. It's all on tape, alright?

Charlie: Yeah, it was just about to. Guys, it's all your fault. (Grabs the camera away from Steve.) It's all your fault. Forget about the truce. Forget about it. It's over. (Grabs her purse and leaves.)
