My Name Is Jonas is Jonas's first video added around the same time he joined YouTube.

(Jonas is sitting in a yellow armchair in front of several bookcases, wearing a tank top that shows off his muscles)

Jonas: Hey, what's up? Uh, my name is the Weezer song. Uh, actually, the--the band, they uh, they named the song after me! That is a true story. (Jonas pauses, and the sound of crickets is heard) No, that's not true. (laughs) I've been watching a lot of the videos on here, I've seen a lot of the ... lonelygirl15? and the Danielbeast videos. That is, that is some freaky stuff, guys, um...but it--it inspired me. So uh I thought, y'know, I'll give it a shot. (The Chosen by The Psychokinetics plays while he spins around in his chair) A little bit about me: what do I like and what do I not? I like to skate. I'm more of a, uh... Stacy Peralta guy than a Tony Hawk: I mean the McTwist is, is lame. I dig Stacy Peralta, I think because he's a filmmaker. I'm also into editing - I think my heroes (video repeats "heroes" several times) if I had to pick one, my heroes are Max Headroom, the guys who came up with that. Yeah, no, I--I know, I can hear what you're saying, (a thought balloon appears over Jonas's head with the words he says) "Wasn't Max Headroom before your time, Jonas?" Yes. Maybe, but um... I c--I consider myself a student of--of all things cool. (Jonas brings his hands together in front of him and a light effect flashes where they meet) And Max Headroom is definitely cool. Yeah, no he's cool. He's cool. Now in case you were wondering what these are for? (holds up red boxing gloves, then boxes the camera and then his head in slo-mo) Okay, so I'm into boxing... (looks over his shoulder at bookcases) my dad's library. It's not weird, is it? Yeah, it's weird...I'm not into working. I am definitely ... NOT into working. I don't have a job; I've never had a job, I just kinda do stuff around the house and uh... hang out with my boyz. School? Eeeehhhh...not really into it. No. Not at all. But I do like learning new things. I do. I just uh... I just don't like structure. Ugh. (spreads arms out in a sort of shrug) Well, I hope you like my video. That's it for now, but uh... chill. (sits in the background, first looking at a book, then playing with a small percussion instrument, then tossing a ball up and catching it repeatedly)

  • Stacy Peralta is a (male, despite his name and shoulder length hair) movie director and former professional skateboarder.
  • Max Headroom was a fictional artificial intelligence TV character.
  • The name of the video is in reference to a popular Weezer song.
