The Last Hours of Bree's Dad's Life - NBR 9 is the ninth video in the lonelygirl15 mini-series Nikki Bower Report.

Transcript

(Nikki is standing in front of a yellow wall.)

Nikki: Hey guys, it's Nikki B. I'm back, and I have missed you guys and I'm so sorry I've been gone for so long, but I was doing a project. I was in the Middle East, at a top-secret location, but I have photos to show you, so here is what I've been doing.

(Montage of pictures of Nikki's trip in the Middle East with musical accompaniment.)

(Cut back to Nikki in front of the yellow wall again.)

Nikki: So apparently there's been rumors that I've been slacking. Now, would Nikki B. ever let you down? I don't think so. I've got a lot to show you. So let's go.

(Cut to Nikki in front of some vegetation.)

Nikki: So Colin G. went to the parking garage where Bree's dad got shot. That was easy. I mean, everyone knew where that was. But do you guys know where Bree and her dad met up? Well that's where we are today. Nikki B., bringin' it to you straight. Here is the parking spot where Jonas was parked. (Camera points down to tarmac and then to across the road.) Over here you'll see the fence, and across the street you will see the view where Jonas watched Bree and her dad, of course, minus that lovely red Isuzu. Isuzu? Isuzu! Huh (laughs) that's funny to say.

(Cut to Nikki in front of a cafe.)

Nikki: Here we are, at the Coral Tree Cafe where Bree and her father had their final, fateful meeting. See. There it is. Coral Tree. Coral Tree. I hear they have really good scones. Here we are, where Bree had her last meeting with her father. And this is also the place where her dad revealed to her that he is in fact not her real dad. Now let's see if there's any clues over here. (Walks over to outdoor tables.) Mmmm. This is maybe the sugar they used for their last cup of coffee. Then I'll take it to the lab.

(Cut to Nikki talking to a male cafe employee.)

Nikki: So, you work here, right?

Cafe Man: (Nods) Yes, I do.

Nikki: Do you recognize any of this? (Points to photographs printed on sheets of paper.) These?

Cafe Man: Um.

Nikki: Does that look... er... how about this girl? Does she look familiar at all?

Cafe Man: Nah. I've never seen her before.

Nikki: Can you make a face like that?

Cafe Man: (Sticks out tongue tentatively and shrugs.)

Nikki: (Giggles.) Hee, hee, hee.

(Cut to Nikki approaching a male valet attendant outside the cafe.)

Nikki: Do you recognize any of these people... if they valeted their car here? (Points to photographs.) This is Bree's dad. This is Bree, this is Bree.

Valet Man: Mmm-hmm.

Nikki: Did she, did she... anyone... they valet their car here? Kind of a tall guy with a golfing cap? No. I know... you probably valet a lot of cars. (Nikki senses an awkward moment.) Can you make a face like that? (The man sticks his tongue out confidently. Nikki and the man have a good laugh.)

(Cut to Nikki sitting at an outdoor cafe table.)

Nikki: So apparently, there was a lot of death while I was gone. The Godfather of Soul, James Brown, died on Christmas. Saddam Hussain was hung last week. And, Bree's dad died! I guess it's true, death really does come in threes. I'd like to have a moment now of silence to remember these three people in history. Especially, Bree's dad and all the moments we've shared with him. The time the Order kidnapped him in front of his house. Or when he had his last cup of coffee at the cafe here. A moment please. (Nikki raises her eyes to the sky. This is inter-cut with flashbacks from both the kidnap and the cafe scenes of Bree's dad.) So, what is Bree's dad's name? We don't really know. And it kinda feels rude. It feels, er, disrespectful talking about those who've passed on without giving them a name. So now it's time for you to come up with a creative, fun name for Bree's dad. That's right. You guys get to email me, or better yet, make a response video about what you think Bree's dad's name should be and maybe an ode... an ode to Bree's dad... and, er, I think that'd be fun. Yeah? Yeah? I think so.

Notes

  • Among the many still images flashed on the screen at the beginning of the video is a picture of Saddam Hussein about to be hanged, implying that Nikki was there and might have been the one who leaked footage of the execution onto the internet.
  • When the camera pans to show the cafe, a woman that looks a lot like Lucy is opening the door.
  • Nikki's pictures seem to possibly be from Israel (lots of old stone, like the old city section of Jerusalem).
  • Paul in An Ode to Bree's Dad responded to Nikki with an amusing ode.
