Rachel's grandfather is an unseen character in Maddison Atkins. He took care of Rachel after her parent's tragic death in a car accident, which Rachel briefly describes in First Date Postmortem. In her video, Where Does The Time Go? Rachel mentions that she abandoned Linc in the tunnel and made it all the way back to East Texas to her grandfather's home. When she mentions that the instructor for her communications class is none other than Dr. Arscott for an extension on her project, there is reason to believe that Rachel's grandfather lives in Nacogdoches, TX.

Apparantly, Rachel's grandfather is a stickler for good manners, as he taught Rachel that they "still count for a lot these days" (Opportunity Crisis!).
