Yeah, I'd be willing to work as an administrator. When the shit hit the fan today there was no way for me to stop it, so I just left. I had no idea what was going on or if the attack was going to escalate or not, but with admin status I could have put the breaks on a lot sooner.--JayHenry 16:01, 9 November 2006 (PST)

Did the person who redireced the Yousef link have admin ability. If now, how did they do it?

Anyone can create a redirect. -- Twjaniak 19:27, 9 November 2006 (PST)

My assumption is that it was something official and that Yousef himself wants his name removed from the project because he is bitter and angry. However I dont know what to make of the Creators statement today.

I was just afraid that the entire Yousef page was going to be deleted so I copied it a few places. - modelmotion

I did not create the PM page, Star did. She created it because she used the abreviation and I did not know what PM stood for. If pple are gonna use abrevs, its worth having pages that define them!!!!--modelmotion 20:46, 12 November 2006 (PST)
the Chat room page has been very popular. I orignally inteded it to just provide direction on how to get to the chat room and some background information on the software it used. However users picked up on it and THEY decided that THEY should add their names to it. Each of them did that of their own FREE WILL....SO if you want to question the relevance of the page you will have to ASK ALL THE FANS that added their names.--modelmotion 20:50, 12 November 2006 (PST)
Where did the firing of Yousef material/history go???????????--modelmotion 20:59, 12 November 2006 (PST)
All the warnings take up way to much space on the home page. You are destroying the pages utility. Can you please condence it so we can at least see the content!!!!!!!!--modelmotion 21:00, 12 November 2006 (PST)
The warnings are meant to be noticed so that the addressed issues can be remedied by the users. Once the problem abates, the messages can be removed. -- Twjaniak 21:18, 12 November 2006 (PST)

Most of those pages were created this afternoon. Star was teaching people in the chat room how to created wiki pages but I dont think she understood they should be placed in the user section. It was an innocent mistake on their part but we need to be careful how we treat new users who might eventually become contributers. I personally am excited that they all wanted to participate and while I can take no credit for that I think ultimately its a good thing for the wiki (and i do understand that jh had to spend a lot of time moving pages......but hey, look at the bright generated a lot of enthusiasm for the wiki!!!!!!!!--modelmotion 21:25, 12 November 2006 (PST)

'Well, I've completed work on getting a PayPal donation link and banner ads to main site. Hopefully the Creators will be able to pull in some additional revenue. The storefront is ready and now only need merchandise to be added to it"-----a lot of users have been asking about the security of PayPal (apparently the security thing has not been appearing in their browser. Also they would like to be sure that the money actually goes to the production of LG. You might want to address these points!!!!--modelmotion 22:53, 12 November 2006 (PST)
These points have not been asked or brought into question either in e-mails sent to the staff or on the forums. What security thing are you talking about? The link takes users to a secure PayPal page. Most users of the Internet users are familiar with PayPal and understand it to be a safe place for transactions. Furthermore, an official announcement has been made in the forums and a link appears on the main page under the videos. It should be apparent that this addition is officially sanctioned by the Creators otherwise it would not appear on the site. -- Twjaniak 04:39, 13 November 2006 (PST)

Can you make other people admins?--LB15 20:10, 11 November 2006 (PST)

Yes -- Twjaniak 06:53, 12 November 2006 (PST)

What do have to do to become an admin? LB15

Congratulations you have been recognized as a LG15 pedia Hard Worker--LB15 16:04, 12 November 2006 (PST)

Hi I was thinking maybe we should make this site so you have to make an account only so we will have less vandals you know what I mean. LB15

The Story So Far...

New article sounds cool, I'll be excited to start working on it. Is there a page we should use?--JayHenry 20:34, 14 November 2006 (PST)

Just start a new one entitled The Story So Far... -- Twjaniak 21:05, 14 November 2006 (PST)

Main Page

Not quite sure but I may have saved over some info you have archived on the main page. If so I did not mean to mess you up. It looks like you tried to archive some info, but i can't find a way to reverse it, so maybe i didnt. Incidentally it would help if you also archived or deleted some of the dated material on this least in my opinion. --modelmotion 07:24, 16 November 2006 (PST)

hey, I hope you didn't take my anecdotes about the Templates as a criticism. I actually didn't know that the Creators had asked you to do that. (As a side note, why do they never communicate on the Wiki directly? If they would just post their wishes on the Community Portal their would be no confusion.) I was trying to show to Modelmotion that sometimes we have to compromise. His temper tantrum about the location pages is extremely inappropriate behavior for a Wiki editor. This wiki is absolutely a community effort. We tried to discuss this and he's completely ignored every suggestion and insisted that it's his way or the highway.--JayHenry 11:36, 16 November 2006 (PST)

I have participated as a community member and i have the freedom to say what i want and exericise my first amendment least i did the last time i checked the constitution. Just because i believe in what i am saying does not mean i am throwing a temper tantrim. I am just not going to let the wiki be pushed around by the admins as long as i feel its being pushed in the wrong direction. I think that my right and I think if you would look at what i am saying you would see that i do have a point. I also have listend to the the comments of others and responded by making improvements where possible. You can delete what you want and there is not one things i can do about it. Just remember I put a lot of work into this stuff so dont expect me to be a happy camper if you do.--modelmotion 11:46, 16 November 2006 (PST)

Internet problem

I have a friend from virginia thats trying to get onto the web site and has not been able to. It works fine for me and I know you just went thru the server update. Are you aware of any specific problems that might stop site entry........we have tried all the obvious thinks like restarting the computer.--modelmotion 15:50, 20 November 2006 (CST)

Credit for the Story so Far...

Hi i wrote the "story so far" article and i was wondering if i could get a little credit for it, maybe a hard work medal, or something of that sort. :-), or maybe like a free shirt (i also submitted a few logos, slogans, and apparal designs for the contest, if you want i can forward them to you by email), or owen, when they come out?

thanks hiram Merryprankster91 18:37, 24 November 2006 (CST)

I second this request for a hard work medal. Its nice to see someone willing to pick up the ball and run with it.--modelmotion 20:25, 24 November 2006 (CST)

Two Things

Hey TWJaniak, now you're busy, but had two quick things. 1) A lot of the newer users don't realize or believe that some of the details about cast and crew are official. Is there anyway we can clear this up for people? People want a reference that Jessi Williams plays Lucy, for example, and I agree it'd be nice, because it's sometimes difficult to sort through an edit history and determine what was officially added by you, and what was added by somebody just being silly (for example, I thought Gemma Papakonstantinou might be legit, and to people unfamiliar, the way Jessi Williams is added is the same as Gemma Papakonstantinou).

Two weeks ago, I was given a credits list from Miles Beckett for the first 70 or so episodes. This list included many names which we already knew, plus one that was unknown until the release of this information: Jessi Williams as Lucy. Additionally, I have also been given the name of actor who plays Jona--Jackson Davis.
It is safe for users of the LGpedia to assume that any LG15 specific contributions from Admin or myself are canonical and authoritative. I am not sure how to advertise that fact.

2) Modelmotion has picked a fight with one of the new editors of the LGpedia, a knowledgeable editor named Tannhaus. I think he's trying to drive Tannhaus away from the LGpedia, and I think it's inappropriate.

Anyone can nominate a page for deletion, but the decision to do so will remain with LGpedia administrators, who will consider the the will of the community while favoring LG relevancy. There are many article on this site that have only a tangential relationship with LG15 or its production; this is okay. An articles about H.P. Lovecraft has a place here as there have been allusions to his work throughout the LG15 plot. Unfortunately, that same article is filled more with fiction in regards to Crowley's relationship with Lovecraft, than there is discussion about his actually relevancy to the plot. Kathulu Majik is an example of an article that has shown no relevancy to the LG15 plot and is a valid candidate for deletion; the Lovecraft article simply needs a major revision.
Fortunately, the LGpedia, like most MediaWiki's, doesn't appear to get cluttered with trivial articles because many of these are found only by a direct search or are connected to other equally off-topic pages. In this regard, we don't NEED to delete any pages because of fear of waisting space, but do so for the sake of remaining true the idea of being an LG15-centric store house of knowledge. We do it to for organizational purposes. Alternatively, we can keep the article but move its content. For example, the tiny article on private messages could be turned into a redirect after having its contents wrapped into the article on the Forums or the Chat Room.
I frequently find that people nominate pages for deletion because of the content within the article and not so much because the article exists in the first place. In such cases, I suggest that users who request the deletion edit the article themselves such that citable facts replace the more spurious information that they objected to in the first place. It's the responsibility of the LGpedia community to ensure articles contain factual information, and to charitably correct well-intentioned but ill-informed editors whenever possible. -- Twjaniak 13:43, 1 December 2006 (CST)

That is not accurate. Tannhaus has been on LGpedia for quite some time, albeit annonymous (see his user page). He is well educated on Thelema and we have numberous informative debates. I have even posted information he supplied to me to help clarify the Thelema sitution that he felt was an insult. In addition i have posted a link to his vlog because i felt it was extremely informative about Thelema. Where we differ is how to handle other fictional material that like LG draws from religioius influences. This often results in a fictional product that is offensives to those religous sects from where the influence is drawn. I want to include such fiction material and clearly identify it as fictional material that might point to a potential story like for LG. He wants to delete this material. I am not picking a fight with Tannhause.........I am fighting for the survival of information that I feel an individual wants deleted because a fictional work insulted his relgion.--modelmotion 13:01, 1 December 2006 (CST)

I Agree with ModelMotion..But it also is Lacking information on The Subjects.--Iris2009

I have no problems with fiction. I do have a problem with fiction being stated as fact...especially when the insinuations are insults against a religion. I personally have a problem with the insinuation that Masons believe everything good comes from Osiris, but as I have not had time lately to do anything but minor stuff and hang out with my girlfriend, I haven't been able to edit much. But, I'm not even a Mason. I just have a problem with negative misrepresentation when something is stated as fact but is actually fiction.

As far as the Lovecraftian stuff, you really can't say that was fiction. It was stated as fact. Yet, the sources were fanfiction. When that is removed as a credible source or even legitimate Lovecraft fiction, there was nothing to tie it into the storyline. In addition, the fanfiction was not widespread. It was one person on the whole internet that had incorporated this into his work on a newsgroup. It was sort of a tongue-in-cheek thing, yet a whole new group of pages on LG15 were created in order to work this into the LG15 story.

So, I was concerned at where this stops. Do we take one newsgroup post that someone made with fanfiction they wrote, insult a religion by stating it as fact, and work it into the LG15 universe by then creating five wiki entries to deal with the one newsgroup post? --Tannhaus 13:19, 1 December 2006 (CST)

If what Tannhaus says is true, then I'm for deletion of the articles. I was thinking, "Gosh, in the Stephen King book Christine, a teenage couple has a fight after riding in a car; therefore, because that happens in Learning To Drive, we ought to make a page for that book, and so long as it's there, maybe a whole section on the works of Stephen King and which have connections to the series." I'm willing to listen to why modelmotion wants the pages there, but so far the only argument I've heard is "it might be related to the plot". --Brucker 13:38, 1 December 2006 (CST)

That's exactly my point Brucker. If I go into an article, see a lot of erroneous stuff and correct the erroneous stuff....then there's nothing left to tie it into the storyline...and the only way TO tie it into the storyline is to add back clearly erroneous stuff...then you begin to wonder "Why is this even here?". --Tannhaus 14:15, 1 December 2006 (CST)

Since users are going to find this information on the internet just as I did when researching LG, I think its best to keep the pages but clarify the information. Thats all I want. An open fair disscussion with a little wiggle room for alternative positions. The information is out there so lets write something that put it in its proper context and not just delete the pages.--modelmotion 13:40, 1 December 2006 (CST)

My problem with that is that you can find someone saying virtually ANYTHING on the internet if you look long and hard enough. But, do we clutter every entry up with totally erroneous information to the point that the individual can't get any correct and relevant information from the articles? It seems pretty self-defeating. --Tannhaus 13:46, 1 December 2006 (CST)

I was thinking maybe making fan Found Research or something of the sort?.--Iris2009

Broken Kid

I Listed Him on Fanfic, i didnt know where to put him. if u could can u fix this or if im wrong take it off. Thanks.

Privacy policy page

What should be do with the LGPedia: Privacy policy page? It's the one I mentioned w the PayPal thing. Do we have an actual policy that should be listed there, or one that we can redirect to? Otherwise I think it should be nominated for deletion (or flagged as spam or something). OwenIsCool 20:32, 1 December 2006 (CST)

Big thanks for adding the cite extension!! So exciting!--JayHenry 15:01, 13 December 2006 (CST)

I had to upgrade the whole LGpedia to do it! -- Twjaniak 15:19, 13 December 2006 (CST)

Links to Music page

Hi Todd,
LG15 Soundtrack is up-to-date! Now that the "soundtrack" page is built, I'm not sure what's the best way to deal with the music information contained in the various blog articles. Some include links to the artists' LGPedia page, which redirects to the LG15 music page. Others have external links to their band webpages. Some have these links within the template and others have it embedded in the transcript.
To keep things consistent and direct everyone to the LG15 Soundtrack as much as possible (because it often more complete info on links for listening to the songs and to the bands' pages), I was thinking perhaps a minor change could be made to the Blog3 template. Just as typing in Bree Phone Home as the next video would produce Bree Phone Home automatically, I thought perhaps we could have it so that "The tale of room 620 by Ehren Starks" would automatically show The tale of room 620 by Ehren Starks (linking to LG15 Soundtrack).
I don't know much about templates, but from what I see, it looks like this:

! Music {{!}} {{{song}}} |}}

could be replaced with something along the lines of:

! Music {{#if: {{{Music|}}} | "[[{{{LG15 Soundtrack|Music}}}]]" | none}}

I'm not sure if I got that right, but I hope it conveyed the message. I saw you made the majority of edits to Blog3, so I thought it'd be best to let you take care of any changes made to it (esp since they affect so many pages!). If you like the change and want to implement it, I'd have no problem going through the blog articles to make sure it's being used correctly in all of them.

OwenIsCool 18:53, 18 December 2006 (CST)

All right, sounds good. Thank you for taking the time and going through that. I'll look at the changes you made and do it for the rest of the vids. Thanks! OwenIsCool 13:46, 19 December 2006 (CST)
