Ross Berger is a playwright and a screenwriter who worked as a writer and consultant for the lonelygirl15 video series in Summer 2007. He helped to integrate product placement, create word and logic puzzles, and worked with the writing staff to finalize Season 1.
Playwriting first sparked Ross's interest when he took a course on the topic at Brandeis University. After graduating in 1998 with a BA in Philosophy, Ross went on to get his Master's in Playwriting from Columbia University. During his final year at Columbia, his play "The Shoebox Of Ebbets Field" was chosen by the Cherry Lane Theatre to be produced as part of their mentorship fellowship program
This opportunity helped Ross emerge as an original voice in the field. A few years later, Ross entered his play "semi-colon right parenthesis" into the 2003 New York City 15-Minute Play Festival, where it won five awards, including "Best Play" and "Audience Favorite." He has since had many plays produced in theatres throughout New York, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia.
After his sucess as a playwright, Ross decided to move to LA to pursue his childhood dream of writing for the small screen. He had had some success with screenwriting in New York, such as an episode of Law & Order that he co-wrote (which got submitted for a 2005 Emmy), but hoped to find better opportunities in California. After moving, he wrote a special script for Fox's House M.D. won first prize in the One-Hour Drama Category of 2007's Scriptapalooza TV Writing Competition.
In his spare time, Ross loves to create puzzles and contributed to the May 2007 issue of Games Magazine. He is also a presidential history buff, with particular emphasis on the Lyndon B. Johnson era.
