Transcript
Sarah: (Outside) As you may have guessed, Daniel and I are officially back together. I know it's fast, but it just feels right. We have to be discreet though. Jonas and Jennie have been at each other's throats since... y'know. Jennie's trying to be understanding but she just wasn't too happy about the whole Purple Monkey thing. Y'know, having it so close to where they... sleep. But, I don't know. It just kinda got to her. And... (looks back at house) I probably shouldn't tell you this, but Jonas has been wearing this little ring on his finger. Y'know, Gina gave it to him at prom and he hasn't taken it off since. I don't even think Jennie's noticed yet. Shh! It'll be our little secret, okay? (lowers camera)
(Cut to Sarah walking down a street)
Sarah: Daniel took me hiking yesterday, which means it's my turn to do something nice for him. I know, me plus nice rarely equals sincere, but believe it or not I actually want to do this. Only problem: I have no idea what to get him. I need something that says, "I pay attention because I'm into you." You know, it's that kind of mantra that makes for a healthy relationship. Or so I'm told. (lowers camera)
(Cut to Sarah outside of a granite building)
Sarah: I admit, I am the queen of unhealthy relationships. But getting this second chance with Daniel... it feels different, y'know? It... it's like I actually have a shot at being happy. That's why Gina's drawings worry me. I mean, why would she keep that a secret? Secrets can be dangerous, we all saw what happened with Carl. (Car beeps) It's just... there were times when he and I were close, but he chose to play with fire and, well, my sympathy only goes so far.
(Fade to Sarah sitting on her bed, holding up one of Gina's drawings. A giftbag is sitting next to her on the bed.)
Sarah: So, this is the picture I've been assigned to analyze. We're piecing together the memories of Gina's past. Truth? It looks like a horror story and yet somehow she survived it and became this cool, fun person. I'll post it on LG15.com. (Picks up a bow of curled ribbons) And on a lighter note, you're probably wondering what I got for Daniel. (Attaches bow to bag) It's a DVD box set. Star Wars trilogy. Original theatrical cuts. I can't tell you how many times he's gone on a fanboy rant talking about how the special editions suck. (Leans into camera and imitates Daniel) Its like Lucas compromised the integrity of his own vision. Ugh. (Laughs) I'm sure he'll love it. (Covers camera)
