Introduction
Thelema, which means "will" in Ancient Greek, is a philosophical system widely celebrated today in various forms. The founding of Thelema (in its modern form) is generally credited to the occultist Aleister Crowley. Thelema has a body of literature written by Aleister Crowley extrapolating its doctrines in poetry and prose. Such works are The Holy Books of Thelema (which contains the central text, The Book of the Law) and Liber 418. Followers of Thelema dub themselves Thelemites and are often found in initiatory schools such as the OTO and AA.
References in the Lonelygirl15 series
It has been widely speculated that the unknown religion which Bree is a member of is Thelemic in origin. The logo at the bottom of the Lonelygirl15 web site was, prior to the redesign, the unicursal hexagram. Which is often affiliated with Thelema, and the Greek writing for Thelema (θέλημα) is to the right of LG15*.
