Going Down is the five-hundred fourteenth video in the lonelygirl15 video series. It is also the one-hundred fourth video of season three.

Jonas: Here we are! Lake Clandon. (Pans over the lake) I'd really like to thank ooxxkt, Brandi, and Bear for helping me decode the documents that I found in the Resistance bunker. Thanks to you guys we figured out that the documents made up of signal flags and morse code contained a location, Lake Clandon, followed by a series of very, very vague instructions. I guess whoever wrote this things must have had some kind of a naval background. (Sniffs) Yeah, that smells like a clue. (Cut to Jonas at the edge of the lake) This is so... so weird. I've been here before. Yeah... I used to go fishing here with my dad when I was a kid. Maybe there was more to those trips than I thought. (Cut to a tree and Jonas looking up it) (Laughs) Ahh! I have no idea what I'm looking for to be honest. First part of the code translated as "Caldon Lake." 'Kay, we're here. But then it said, "by the marked tree," so... I'm guessing one of the trees around here's gotta have some sort of marking on it? I don't know. Keep your eyes open. Oh, yeah, I guess I gotta do that.

(Cut to some fast footage of Jonas searching various trees)

Jonas: And here we are at tree one billion six hundred and ninety seven thousand. I don't even know. Maybe I've already seen the mark. I mean, I don't even know what I'm looking for. (Cut to Jonas kneeling by a tree. The camera pans from the bottom up until a Resistance symbol is seen.) Wait a minute. Wait, wait, wait. That's a... that's a... what's it called? Theta? Theta (snaps fingers) Theta Pi! It's an anti-order symbol. It's the same one that Bree found in my parent's cabin. I think we've found our marked tree, people.

(Cut to an angled shot from the ground of Jonas in front of the tree with his bag and equipment next to him.)

Jonas: (Pulls out documents) Okay, so here's the deal. This right here (shows alpha naval signal flag upside down) this is the signal... (turns it right side up) this is the signal flag for the letter A. It's also an abbreviation for "Diver Down." Yeah, diver down. So I guess... (laughs) I guess that means whatever I'm looking for is in the water. I'm going swimming! (Stuffs documents into bag) And the last part was in morse code and it said "black rock" so I'm looking for a black rock in the water. (Sniffs) Sounds easy. (Grabs shovel) Good thing I'm prepared, huh? (Grabs the camera)

(Cut to Jonas crouching down in front of the camera in his bathing suit.)

Jonas: Okay, so I guess I'm not as prepared as I thought. Didn't bring flip-flops. (Sighs) All right, anyway, (clears throat) I'm gonna have to leave you guys here for this part. Wish me luck. (Goes to walk away) This better be worth it. That's all I'm saying.

(Jonas gets up and heads over to the water with his shovel. Noise from behind the camera can be heard.)

Jonas: Big rocks, big rocks!

(Jonas goes out of view and we hear footsteps approaching. Two gloved hands appear in the shot and begin rummaging through Jonas's bag. They pull out a pair of laboratory goggles. They fumble through the rope and finally find the documents underneath.)

Jonas: Hey! Hey!

(The gloved person fumbles with the documents but scoops them up and runs away.)

Jonas: (Running after the person) Hey! Ow! Damn it!

(Cut to Jonas holding his bag close to the river.)

Jonas: Okay, I don't know who that was. I was too far out. I couldn't really see. But I'm thinking I better get this done before they come back. What do you think? (Walks down to the edge of the lake) Let's get to digging.

(Cut to fast footage of Jonas digging around in the water. Jonas picks up a black rock and examines it.)

Jonas: Ha! Ha ha! (Lifts up rock) Ha ha ha ha! Ha! (Runs over to the camera with the rock) Black rock, same symbol. (Throws rock down) Got it.

(Jonas goes back into the water and starts digging. Eventually, his shovel hits something. He begins to dig frantically and pulls out a silver briefcase and walks back to the camera.)

Jonas: I got it! I got it. I got it.

(Cut to Jonas with his shirt on under the tree)

Jonas: All right, so this is what's inside. (Holds up a plastic covered document with signatures) It looks like... some sort of a mission statement and it's got a bunch of signatures on it. Right? So I did a quick check online. Every single name on here, signed in full, corresponds with every initial on my dad's thesis. My dad's name is on this paper alongside eleven other names including Michael Byron Carruthers. (Gets louder) As in... (turns around to see if anyone is around and gets quieter) as in Lord Carruthers. No, why would Lord Carruthers' name be on a Resistance document? I don't know. (Grabs briefcase) But we're gonna find out.

(Cut to Jonas lying on the grass near his truck)

Jonas: You know, when I think of this lake or this mission statement... (sighs) it makes me realize this is getting all very, very personal. You know, I started this trip out with Gina's drawings and now everything, everything's leading back to my parents. You know, when I first found out they were still alive, man... that's a feeling that's just impossible to describe. When they didn't remember me, I just... I just kinda gave up on 'em. I gave up on ever knowing the truth about their role in the Resistance, what happened to them after they disappeared, just- just the whole thing. Maybe that's what this is all about.

The mission statement.
  • A copy of the paper in the briefcase can be found here, or on your right.
  • The document that Jonas found reveals his last name to be Wharton (an anagram for "Hart won").
  • The object stolen from Jonas's bag is believed to be one of the coded papers.
  • The title of this video may be a reference the slang for performing oral sex.
  • This is the last lonelygirl15 video to mention Gina.
  • There is also an LG15: The Resistance video of the same name, which can be found at Going Down (LG15: The Resistance).
