Katharine McPhee was the runner-up on Season 5 of American Idol. On January 17th, 2007, it was announced that McPhee would guest star in an episode of Lonelygirl15. Two days later she appeared in the 118th LG episode, entitled Truth Or Dare, as a New Friend of Bree, Daniel, and Jonas.
According to the Associated Press, McPhee was an early fan of the show, and encouraged her management to approach the Creators about a possible guest role.
McPhee said she enjoyed the experience and was quoted as stating, "I would definitely go back if they asked me".
The song "Over It" from McPhee's debut album "2007: Katharine McPhee," which was released on January 30th, 2007 was used in the episode.
