Jennie: So I was up all night writing that brief for Mr. Thompson. When I told Jonas and Daniel, they got really worried; I mean, the plan was for me to work here and stay under the radar. Jonas is freaking out. But, I mean, this is an opportunity. The more that Thompson trusts me, the more access I'll have to Salinas. I am worried, though, and I haven't even gotten any feedback on my paper yet. I'm- I'm thinking I should just... go and not come back.

(Jennie picks up a small "Fight The Order" card, showing it to the camera.)

Jennie: I've brought some of the posters and campaign artwork that you guys have created, and, before I go, I'm going to put one of these on every desk. I can't wait to see how Salinas reacts when his staff starts asking him questions about the Order.

(Jennie sets the card down. Cut to Jennie typing on her laptop as Ross Thompson appears at her office, knocking on the door.)

Jennie: Hi!

Ross: You are interesting.

Jennie: Um... (Closes her laptop.) Uh, was the brief okay?

Ross: No, it wasn't okay.

Jennie: Oh, why not?

Ross: Lisa, it was superb!

Jennie: Oh!

Ross: I was blown away.

Jennie: Oh, I'm so glad!

Ross: I gave it to the Councilman, and he was blown away too. He called me himself this morning.

Jennie: Wow.

Ross: I think there could be a place in the campaign for you... healthcare, women's issues...

Jennie: Oh, um, wow.

Ross: I like you, I do. So I booked us a table for tonight 8 o'clock.

Jennie: I... have plans.

Ross: (Laughs.) Cancel them.

Jennie: Um... I-I kind of have a boyfriend.

Ross: Oh, boyfriend. Alas, he's not invited.

Jennie: Oh. (Laughs.) Um... Oh my god...

(Jonas appears at Jennie's office, wearing his suit and glasses and carrying a paper bag. He knocks on the door and enters to shake Ross Thompson's hand.)

Jonas: Hi, I'm, uh, I'm Bill.

Ross: Hi, Ross Thompson.

Jonas: Ross.

Jennie: Yeah, this... this is Bill.

Ross: You must be the boyfriend.

Jonas: Um... yeah. Kind- kinda.

Ross: That's what I hear.

Jennie: So... What are you doing here, Bill?

(Thompson looks at his cellphone as Jonas holds up the paper bag.)

Jonas: Oh, I came to, uh, bring you your lunch. It's- It's tuna, your favorite... see how every thing's going down here. Wow, huh? (Lifts up his glasses to look around and laughs.) This is awesome, this is (Smacks Ross on the back.) Salinas headquarters, where it all happens, huh? It's great. Really cool. So, uh, how you doing?

Jennie: Yeah, I'm great. Great. (Grabs Jonas's arm.) Um, I'll just see you at home, okay?

Jonas: Yeah, sure! Sure, I'll see- I'll see you at home.

Jennie: 'Kay.

(Jonas salutes.)

Jonas: Oh... Let me just... (Leans toward Jennie, knocking her clipboard to the ground.) I got it. (Retrieves the clipboard and puts it back on her desk.) Just didn't see that there. Alright, bye.

(Jonas kisses Jennie on the cheek and leaves.)

Jennie: All right.

Ross: It was a pleasure, Bill.

Jennie: Bye, honey.

Jonas: Bye. (Removes his glasses.) Honey?

(Jonas gestures at Ross, mouthing "Who's that?" and leaves. Jennie and Ross laugh awkwardly.)

Jennie: Uh...

Ross: Our table's at 8.

Jennie: Oh, uh, yeah; I don't really know...

(Ross's phone rings.)

Ross: Well, I ha- One second. (Answers the phone.) Yeah? (Gives a thumbs-up to Jennie.) She's right in front of me. I will tell her. (Puts the phone down.) That was reception. Salinas wants to talk to you. It must be about the brief.

Jennie: Uh, when? Right now?

Ross: He's outside, waiting in a car. You can talk to him on the way to the airport.

Jennie: Oh! I-I-I-I don't really think that I-I would have anything to say...

Ross: Lisa, You can't keep him waiting!

(Thompson leaves.)

Jennie: Shit! Shit-shit-shit-shit!

(Jennie leaves, grabbing the camera. Cut to Jennie's purse-cam as she approaches a black SUV. She stops briefly in front of it.)

Jennie: Okay, now or never.

(Jennie opens the car door, holding the mace canister. Elizabeth is sitting in the back seat.)

Elizabeth: You won't be needing that. Please sit down. I need to talk to you, it's urgent.

Jennie: What are you doing here?

Elizabeth: Saving a life.

Jennie: I- No, I can handle myself, thanks.

Elizabeth: Not yours. Your friend Emma's.

Jennie: What?

Elizabeth: She's going to die.

Jennie: Why-wha-? Why? How?

Elizabeth: The wheels are in motion; it's all set.
