Transcript
(Gina slides open the door to the backyard.)
Daniel: All right, girls...
(Jonas lifts up the top of the barbecue grill for Daniel to squirt in lighter fluid.)
Daniel: Oh, it didn't work-
(The coals put off a huge flame and both Daniel and Jonas jump back.)
Jonas: Whoah!
Daniel: Geez! (Jonas and Daniel laugh.) Holy c-
Jonas: Nice.
(Daniel sets down the lighter fluid as Jonas sets down the grill lid.)
Daniel: Thanks.
(Gina turns the camera on herself.)
Gina: (In an Australian accent.) All right. So we've come here today to see if we can't discover some of the more plentiful species on the plains. (Turns the camera to Daniel and Jonas.) Here we find the ever-ravenous Danielbeast. (Daniel snarls and Gina giggles.) And his close cousin, the three-toed Jonas.
Jonas: Hi. (Gina giggles.)
Gina: (Pans the camera down to the grill, to find charred hamburgers and hotdogs.) Crikey! Nice meat!
Jonas: Thanks. (Gina laughs.)
(Jennie walks over with a plate.)
Gina: Wow! Do you see that beautiful Jennie that just walked by? (Jennie poses for the camera and sits down.) Naught two feet away. (Approaches Sarah, who is reading her copy of Finding the One.) Shh. Be very quiet. We don't want to disturb-
Sarah: Don't say another word. 'Kay?
Gina: Okay. (Films the table set up with food.)
Jonas: Listen, Gina, don't worry about her. Alright? She's just upset because we discovered her elusive Mexican Mating Machine! Isn't that right, Sarah?
Daniel: Come on, man. Chill.
Jonas: Right. You're right. I'm sorry. My bad.
Sarah: (Gets up.) Seriously, you guys have no right to use my personal information - a letter from Carl - for stalking him. It's just so completely childish.
Daniel: Childish? What about posting a love letter for the whole world to see?
Sarah: Are you saying I did that to hurt you?
Daniel: Come on.
Sarah: That is just so selfish.
Jennie: Okay. You know what? Let's not fight. Okay?
Sarah: You know what? How was I even supposed to know what it said?
Daniel: It's in Spanish, Sarah; not binary code. Come on!
Jennie: Alright, you know what? Enough! Look, whatever happened between them, the fact remains that if we want to find Bree's mom, we gotta get to Carl. So let's just work together, right?
Sarah: Right.
Jonas: Okay, so then the question is: how do we approach him? Yeah? And once we do, how can we be sure he's telling us the truth?
Sarah: Don't look at me. Nuh uh. Mm mm. No way. Look, things around here are already weird enough? And by the way, Daniel's so jealous who knows what would happen if I actually went up and spoke to Carl?
Daniel: I'm not jealous!
Jennie: Okay. You know what? I'm gonna do it. I know Carl; I'll talk to him.
(The doorbell rings.)
Jonas: Are you sure?
Jennie: Well...
Daniel: Is that the doorbell?
Sarah: I'll get it.
(Gina follows Sarah to the door. Sarah shoots Gina an annoyed look before arriving at the front door. Sarah opens the door to find Carl, holding a bouquet of roses.)
Carl: Hi, Sarah. Oh, Jonas, it's good to see you again.
Jonas: (Steps in front of Sarah, brandishing the spatula.) Carl, what are you doing here? Alright, go back inside.
Carl: Whoah- Whoah- Hey, I-
Jonas: I wi- I-I'll handle this, alright? Just go back inside! Please!
Sarah: Jonas, I can handle it!
Carl: I came as a friend...
Sarah: Jonas, I can handle it, okay?
(Jonas looks at the camera and then at Sarah and Carl. Carl nods. Jonas leaves.)
Carl: Sarah, I left the Hymn of One. (Laughs and hands the bouquet to Sarah.) I'm so glad I found you.
(Sarah nervously smells the roses and Carl brushes his hand on her cheek.)
